The Brothers Behind the SpeedWagon
Aug 24, 2025

Behind every great car is a story of passion that begins long before the first sketch is drawn - ours is no different. Today, I'd like to introduce myself, Stone, and my brother, Silas. Together, we're making the SpeedWagon a reality.
Our love of cars is quite literally in the blood. Our paternal great-grandfather invented and produced automotive parts in Detroit in its heyday (along with several other family members in the industry) and our maternal grandfather helped establish drag racing in Northern California.
Si’s obsession with cars started when he was just 3 months old listening to 60's Italian V-12s rumbling through the alleyway below our hotel room in Pebble Beach. He was hypnotized. He started designing cars as soon as he could draw and has spent much of his life developing the skills to make the SpeedWagon a reality.

Starting a car company from scratch needs more than just automotive passion and building skills though. It needs a business built around it and that's where I come in. I started my career helping launch Model S for Tesla in the US and expanding internationally. After four years there, I moved on to the startup world helping numerous businesses grow and founding a few startups of my own.
Just as Strickland Motor Co was taking shape, I was wrapping up my previous startup. Silas and I had always dreamed of working together and the SpeedWagon was a perfect opportunity for our complementary skillsets.
Since I joined at the beginning of 2024, we’ve developed our business and manufacturing plan, gotten initial funding, built our Driver’s Panel and a growing social media presence, unveiled early concept designs at SEMA in 2024 and are hard at work on our prototype for SEMA 2025.
Next week, Silas will share more about our manufacturing philosophy and how we're building a car meant to last generations, not just years.
Until then, enjoy the drive.
